Privacy Policy for Companion Extensions

This privacy policy explains how the browser extensions Booth Companion, Jinxxy Companion, and VeeRadar Companion (collectively referred to as "Companion Extensions") handle data and protect your privacy.

1. Responsible Party

The Companion Extensions are developed and provided by an independent developer.

2. Privacy-First Principle

The Companion Extensions are built with a strict privacy-first approach:

  • No user accounts are required
  • No personal data is actively collected or stored by the extensions
  • No tracking, analytics, or advertising systems are used

All functionality is designed to run locally within your browser whenever possible.

3. Locally Stored Data

The extensions store data exclusively in your browser’s local storage. This may include:

  • Selected currency and formatting preferences
  • Custom exchange rate (if manually configured)
  • Favorites and bundle calculation data
  • Owned items detection results (for badges)
  • アバターマッチャーの設定
  • UI preferences (themes and layout)
  • Price tracking configuration (if enabled)

This data never leaves your device and is only used to provide extension features.

4. API Requests and Network Communication

To provide certain features, the Companion Extensions may send requests to external endpoints, including:

  • CompanionGrounds API (for example: https://booth-companion.com/api/prices)
  • Item endpoints (for example: /api/prices/item そして /api/prices/item/bulk)
  • Static exchange-rate files (for example: GitHub Gist)

These requests are limited to retrieving publicly available information such as currency exchange rates, item prices and availability, and item status information. No personal data is transmitted intentionally as part of these requests.

5. Processing of Item Data

Certain API endpoints (such as /api/prices/item and bulk requests) process item identifiers to retrieve and store publicly available product information.

This may include:

  • Item ID
  • Price data
  • Availability status
  • Timestamps (for example: last checked)

This data is stored on the server solely to provide price-related features.

These endpoints operate independently of user identity:

  • No user profiles are created
  • No item requests are linked to individual users
  • Stored data contains only item-related information

6. Technical Request Data

As with any web request, technical information may be processed automatically, including:

  • IP address
  • Request headers (for example: User-Agent)
  • Timestamp of the request

This processing is necessary to deliver responses and ensure system security.

This data is not used for tracking or analytics, not used to identify users, and not stored in a way that links it to individuals.

7. Third-Party Services

The Companion Extensions use minimal external services:

  • GitHub Gist (for static exchange rate data)
  • CompanionGrounds API (self-hosted infrastructure)

No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.

8. Permissions

The Companion Extensions request only the permissions required for their functionality:

  • ストレージ
Used to store preferences and locally saved data.
  • Host Permissions
Access to supported platforms, including Booth.pm, Jinxxy.com, and VeeRadar-related pages.

These permissions are used exclusively to read product and price information, display converted prices and additional insights, and enhance marketplace usability. No unrelated browsing data is accessed or collected.

9. Purpose of Processing

All data handling serves the following purposes:

  • Providing real-time currency conversion
  • Enhancing transparency when browsing marketplaces
  • Supporting bundle calculations and comparisons
  • Displaying ownership or compatibility indicators
  • Maintaining user preferences
  • Enabling optional price tracking features

10. Your Control

You have full control over your data:

  • All locally stored data can be removed via browser settings
  • Uninstalling the extension deletes all associated data

11. Legal Basis (GDPR)

Processing of technical data (for example: IP address) is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

The legitimate interest lies in providing a functional and secure service and ensuring stability and protection against abuse.

12. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect new features or legal requirements.
